It is with great sadness that I write this. Lenny has passed away. On January 3rd, 2002 during "routine" heart surgery, Lenny passed away. This has hit me very hard. However, "A Taste of Jazz" will continue, he would have thought I was stupid not to go on. He was my best friend and I will miss him so much, but... the only thing I can do is go on without him and try to appreciate the time we spent together and the many things he taught me. I am thankful that we have the recordings that we did together. I will never forget him. We had such good times together, on stage and off. He was one of the very few people that I have met in my life that I truly respected and looked up to. After our 2001 New Years Eve gig, I said to him "I love you man". Those were the last words I said to him. R.I.P. |
